Scientific profiles

Saroj R. Tripathi completed Master of Engineering (2007) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Ph.D. in Optical Engineering (2010) from Shizuoka University, Japan. He was a recipient of the Mitsui Du Pont fellowship and Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship for his master and Ph.D. studies, respectively. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Ecotopia Science Institute, Nagoya University, and served as a researcher in RIKEN, Sendai, Japan. In 2013, he was awarded by Japan Society of Promotion of Science (JSPS) with a postdoctoral fellowship for 2 years. After the fellowship, he briefly worked as an Assistant Professor at Nagoya University and then joined Shizuoka University as an Associate Professor in 2016.
Dr. Tripathi’s research interests lie in emission and detection of high-frequency electromagnetic waves, and currently he is working on the development of broadband terahertz (THz) sources and detectors along with industrial and biomedical applications of the terahertz wave. He has authored and co-authored several journal papers and international conferences proceedings. Dr Tripathi is a senior member of IEEE, an associate editor of IEEE Access and an editorial board member of Journal of Japan Society of Infrared Science and Technology. He also served as a committee member of various national and international conferences such as International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz) and Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) young scientists’ meetings.
