Petru Lunca-Popa holds a diploma degree in Physics from the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi (RO), Master degrees in Thin Films Physics from the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi (RO) and University of Nebraska at Lincoln (US). He obtained his PhD degree in Physics from the “Louis Pasteur” University of Strasbourg (F) in 2010. He pursued post doctorate or research stages at Femialb (US), University of Linkoping (SWE) and Paris XI University (F). Since 2013 he is appointed as Research and Technology Associate in the “Transparent and Optically Tuneable Materials and Nanostructures” group at Luxemburg Institute of Science and Technology. Since 2020 he is affiliated as a professor at the Doctoral School in Science and Engineering (DSSE) within the University of Luxembourg
Dr. Petru Lunca-Popa is an experimental physicist working on advanced materials and solutions in the areas of functional coatings and devices, addressing applicative issues in Smart surfaces, Nanocomposites, Energy, and Micro-Sensing fields. His research focuses on Transparent Conductive Materials (TCMs) with an emphasis on p-type transparent semiconductors.
