Theoretical Physics III, Center for Electronic Correlations and Magnetism, Institute of Physics, University of Augsburg, 86135 Augsburg, Germany
Professor Liviu Chioncel received a Doctoral degree in 2000 from Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca Romania and a second PhD degree from Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 2004. From 2005 until the beginning of 2010 he worked as university assistant at Graz University of Technology in Austria where he obtained the Habilitation in theoretical physics. Since march 2010 he moved to University of Augsburg initially working as Junior-Prof. and after 2016 as Professor in the Chair of Theoretical Physics III, within the Center of Electronic Correlations and Magnetism. His scientific interests are in the field of computational physics in general, including the electronic structure theory of ordered and disordered solids, scattering theory and more recently quantum computing.
