Iulia SALAORU

Associate Professor, Engineering and Sustainable Development, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media, De Montfort University, United Kingdom

Schedule

Dr Iulia Salaoru received a BSc (Physics), MSc (Physics) degree from the “Al. I. Cuza” University, Iasi, Romania, where she also awarded a PhD degree for her work on AIIBVI semiconducting compounds. Since completing her PhD, she has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at: Emerging Technologies Research Centre, De Montfort University, Leicester; Centre for Bio-inspired Technology, Imperial College London; Nanofabrication Centre, University of Southampton and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick.

Currently, Dr Iulia Salaoru is an Associate Professor (Materials Science and Engineering) in Engineering and Sustainable Development, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.

Iulia has extensive experience in materials science and device physics: fabrication and investigation of both organic and inorganic materials in the context of their applications in electronic devices such as memory devices and photovoltaics. Additionally, she has knowledge of Additive Layer Manufacturing with hand on experience in ink-formulation; ink-jet printing and validation of material properties for Fused Deposition Modelling process. Her current research interest lies in exploiting novel materials such as graphene-based materials; perovskites; quantum dots, as active components of electronic devices. Iulia has been awarded a Royal Society International Exchange 2020 – Understanding Graphene-based electronic memory devices, (IES\R3\203157; 2021-2023). Dr. Salaoru is a Guest Editor for a Special Issue: Miniaturized Memory Devices in Micromachines (MDPI).
