Dr. Ioan Pop’s research is focused on superconducting quantum circuits. He and his group have interesting contributions on Josephson junctions as reliable building blocks for superconducting quantum memories, high-speed processing units, amplifiers, and detectors, operating in the microwave domain. His research showed that these types of electrical circuits, which can be manufactured using standard lithography, currents and voltages can exhibit quantum mechanical properties and can be controlled using microwave pulses.
Dr. Ioan Pop developed studies on fundamental quantum phenomena and the implementation of quantum information processing and of quantum circuits protected against decoherence.
He published his research results in prestigious journals (39 papers) like Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Physics, Physical Review Letters, etc.
