Professor, Department of Physics, University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania
Professor Doina Manaila-Maximean began her research activity with studies in optoelectronics, on polymer/liquid crystals composites at the University Politehnica of Bucharest. She also worked for CNRS, University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and at present has international collaborations in the field of materials for optoelectronics.
Her main research interests include: physical properties of functional materials for optoelectronics, nanodoping of organic soft matter materials, investigation of their structural, morphological and optical features.
She had important contribution in the study of liquid crystals and their composites, study of mechanism of charge generation and transport, and of the architectures of perovskite solar cells devices and their efficiency.
Her scientific results are reflected by the 80 papers published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, one patent, five books and three chapter books.
She is Chairman of the biennial conference: International Colloquium “Physics of -Materials” and member of the International Committee of the SPIE Conference: “Advanced Topics in Optoelectronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies”, ATOM-N.
She acts as guest editor of the Special Issues “Liquid Crystals- 2020” and “Liquid Crystals composites”, at the “Molecules” and the “Crystals” journals (2020-2021).
