Daniel M. MULVIHILL is Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Glasgow (UK). He completed a D.Phil. in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford in 2012 and subsequently undertook postdoctoral periods at the University of Limerick, EPFL Switzerland and the University of Cambridge prior to joining Glasgow in 2016. His interests are mainly focused on materials engineering and tribology. His current work is focusing on materials for energy applications and, in particular, triboelectricity and flexoelectricity. Dr Mulvihill is a former Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Tribology Trust Bronze Medalist (2013). He presently leads a major £1.5M project (EP/V003380/1) on next generation textile triboelectric nanogenerators funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in the UK. Dr Mulvihill is an Associate Editor of the Elsevier Journal Results in Engineering.
