Bogdana MITU studied at University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics (1992-1997), where she completed as well the doctoral studies in 2003 with a PhD thesis in the field of carbon based materials processed by plasma and laser techniques. She completed short stages in Netherlands at Eindhoven University of Technology (1999) and Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria (2002), and was awarded 2 times NATO fellowships in Italy (2003, 2004) and NATO Reintegration (2005-2008).
She was Head of Low Temperature Plasma Physics department in the period 2014 – 2020, afterwards moving to the newest Center of INFLPR – FOTOPLASMAT where she is acting nowadays as deputy head.
She was acting as member of the International Scientific Committee of several conferences as ESCAMPIG (2016 – 2022), Symposium on Vacuum based Science and Technology (2021), co-chairing symposiums on E-MRS (2018) and ICLPRST (2022), chair of 1st Workshop on Plasma for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture, under CA 19110 Action (2021).
Bogdana MITU is co-author of more than 80 ISI papers, H index 16
She is focusing her research on the plasma synthesis of advanced materials, including polymer-metal nanocomposites and carbon nanostructures, and understanding the processes driving their final characteristics.
